10 EVs That We Would Love To See In Fast And Furious Movies

The Fast and Furious franchise’s rich car history features all sorts of memorable vehicles. Dominic Toretto’s classic Dodge Charger and Brian O’Conner’s Toyota Supra started the racing franchise, and with each installment, each character’s identity has been sewn into the kind of cars they drive. With the shift towards electric vehicles, fans of the franchise would begin to wonder what electric cars could be sewn into these iconic characters. It will be fascinating to see the option Dom’s iconic Charger could realistically be swapped for, while Brian’s Toyota Supra could be replaced with a similar Japanese electric sports car. Keeping the unique personalities of each character in mind, Roman’s love of flashy cars could be fulfilled by an expensive bright-colored super/hypercar, while Letty’s love of the perfect blend of speed and power could be fueled by an exotic blend of muscle and luxury. Hobbs’s larger-than-life personality would fit into a behemoth of an EV if it has enough space. The possibilities for electric cars in the Fast and Furious world are endless. As the world gets more fascinated by electric vehicles and pushes more towards a full EV future, the franchise will undoubtedly continue to adapt, featuring the best cars to capture the unique traits of each one of our favorite characters.

1 Dominic Toretto – Dodge Charger SRT Daytona

All-electric Dodge Charger Daytona SRT

The Daytona SRT is going to be the first muscle car to go electric. Dom’s protector persona mixed with his brute (yet soft) nature fits perfectly with the muscle cars he’s been known for all through the series including Dodge, Chevrolet, and Plymouth muscle cars. Dom sees his cars as people who can talk back to him, so the ‘Fratzonic chambered exhaust’ is perfect for the Daytona SRT for it to speak back the 126-decibels computer-generated V-8-style muscle car language he best understands. He will most likely be found in the capable stage 2 performance upgrade «Dodge Direct Connection» option of the 400-volt system that will put out 670 horsepower. The Daytona SRT will have nine powertrain options split into 400-volt and 800-volt system output options.

2 Letty Ortiz – Audi RS e-tron GT

Letty is the female version of Dom. A rough childhood has hardened her. She’s used to fighting on the streets to survive and this reflects in the kind of cars she tilts towards. She’s a muscle car enthusiast like Dom. Several times, excluding the times she’s gone for two-wheelers, she’s used a similar or the same model of car Dom has used. The Daytona SRT would have fit her like a glove but the Audi RS e-tron GT would be a great substitute being the next closest EV to pure muscle. The RS e-tron GT produces 637 horsepower which helps it hit 60 mph from zero in 2.9 seconds. The regular e-tron GT is driven by 522 horses and has a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds.

3 Roman Pearce – Lotus Evija

Roman Pearce is an eccentric, free-spirited talkative who loves to enjoy himself. He’s driven different cars from the 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo of 2 Fast 2 Furious to the 2010 Koenigsegg CCXR of Fast Five, «the only one in the Western Hemisphere» until he saw Tej’s. In Furious 7, he used a white Bugatti Veyron and contradicted that in F9 with the Marauder. He loves flashy sports cars and seeing him in a bright yellow Lotus Evija will fit properly. The Lotus Evija is an all-electric hypercar driven by 2,000 thoroughbred horses. Its numerous air tunnels littered around the car make it extremely aerodynamic and help it produce its incredible performance figures. It has a 0-60 mph acceleration time of less than three seconds.

4 Tej Parker – Tesla Cybertruck

Tej Parker is a computer wizard whose computer skills came to the fore in Furious 7 when he teamed up with Ramsey to stop Mose Jakande from getting and using «God’s Eye». Earlier installments of the franchise showed a flair for enjoyment as seen in his purchase of the second «the only one in the Western Hemisphere» 2010 Koenigsegg CCXR in Fast Five. Since teaming up with Ramsey, the franchise began to explore his computer wizardry skills and his choice of automobile shifted to SUVs. For a person that once drove a Howe and Howe Technologies Ripsaw, a Tesla Cybertruck pickup truck fits perfectly. Its exoskeleton plays well as a bulletproof and extra computer gadgets could be stored away in the bed which can be accessed from the cabin.

5 Jakob Toretto – Porsche Taycan Turbo S

Jakob was originally the estranged brother of Dom who joined the franchise in F9 as the villain. He started a worldwide conflict off the back of his insecurities that had stemmed from his brother’s bigger personality compared to his. In F9, he had driven a 2016 Ford Mustang GT350. The Porsche Taycan Turbo S will perfectly replace the Mustang and play well with his personality, especially since it’s a luxury car trying to be a muscle car. The Taycan Turbo S is fitted with two motors that produce 616 horsepower. This becomes 750 horsepower when overboost power is triggered with Launch Control. It can accelerate to 60 mph from zero in 2.6 seconds with a top speed of 161 mph.

Luke Hobbs is played by former wrestler, Dwayne «the Rock» Johnson, with a big personality. He’s a law enforcement personnel with the perfect blend of brains and brawn. He’s too «big» for small things. He uses bigger guns, bigger cars, and tank tops because t-shirts don’t fit. He once pulled a helicopter! He never drove a sedan throughout the series. The GMC Hummer EV SUT fits his persona perfectly. It weighs in at more than 9,000 pounds. Edition 1 was the original release version, and it has 1,000 horsepower that can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just three seconds. The width is over seven feet! It has an adaptive air suspension that can raise the truck by eight inches.

The character debuted in the Fast and Furious franchise in the Tokyo Drift episode. This episode told of events between the end of Fast and Furious 6 and its mid-credits scene. Han has never favored one particular style of car and is known to go with the flow. Let’s imagine him in a Tesla Roadster to mirror the 2010 Lexus LFA he used in Fast Five. The Tesla Roadster will undoubtedly be one of the quickest vehicles ever created when it hits the market. Designed to maximize aerodynamic engineering to produce record-setting performance and efficiency, the Roadster can accelerate to 60 mph from zero in 2.1 seconds. It has a top speed of over 248 mph and can cover a quarter-mile in 8.8 seconds.

8 Deckard Shaw – Maserati GranTurismo Folgore

The character first showed up in the mid-credits scene of Fast and Furious 6 where we discovered he had killed Han in Tokyo Drift. In Furious 7, he resorts to revenge on his brother who had been gravely injured by Dom’s team. His machines of choice, the 2014 Maserati Ghibli, 2017 McLaren 720S, 2019 McLaren Senna, 2014 Jaguar F-Type R Coupé, 2012 Lamborghini Aventador, 2005 Aston Martin DB9, and others have shown his affinity for sleek sports cars. The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore will fit his profile well. It runs on three electric motors that send 750 horsepower and 996 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels. The performance is further assisted by a lightweight construction to produce a 0-62 mph time of 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 198 mph.

9 Gisele Yashar – Pininfarina Battista

The character was never really one to race, but deserves the world’s most beautiful car. She started as a liaison to a drug lord in the fourth installment of the series and was later discovered to be a former Mossad agent and CIA operative. Throughout the series, her sexuality has been maximized especially in Fast Five where it was exploited to extract Hernán Reyes’s fingerprints making it understandable that the few times she’s driven, she’s used fast sleek cars. The Pininfarina Battista will fit her profile well. It has four electric motors and each is connected to an individual wheel. Combined, they generate 1,874 horsepower and 1,696 pound-feet of torque that can propel a 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds. This car is a proper nine-second car and has a top speed of 218 mph.

10 Dante Reyes – BMW i4 M50

Dante Reyes is unpredictable, dangerous, and hilarious. He’s to the Fast and Furious franchise what the Joker is to Batman: a villain who revels in chaos. He’s a highly unpredictable character. He uses a Harley Davidson when driving through Rome, a Chevrolet Impala when racing Dom, and a Ford Fairlane when going after Dom’s son. Ultimately, his affinity for masculine automobiles is seen. It’s easy to imagine him in a BMW i4 M50. It runs on a dual-motor setup that produces 536 horsepower and 586 pound-feet of torque. Its handling is assisted by the Adaptive M Suspension with an electronically controlled damper, variable sports steering, and other features. It can accelerate to 60 mph from the start in 3.7 seconds and keep going till it hits 130 mph.

A moment of silence…

Brian O’Conner and Dominic Toretto brought life to the Fast and Furious series as they turned it from a local car racing franchise to a heist series, a spy film series, and then all-out science fiction. When cars started dropping out of the sky, they entered the MCU realm. Throughout the series, Brian’s used low profile mostly Japanese cars to pull out-of-this-world stunts. Let’s imagine him teaming up with Dom one more time to go up against Dante Reyes in a Nissan R36 GT-R EV. Not much is known about the car yet, but expect it to make well over 1,000 horses when it comes out.
