Ups
Excellent suspension on every model. Since the four-seater came out last year, it still feels new, and comes in at a low price point compared to other rigs in its class. Bold styling makes it one of the best-looking side-by-sides on the trail while being capable, comfortable, and affordable.
Downs
It’s a bit slower than the average sport rig, some desired features may not be available, and the size of the four-seater makes it much less nimble on the trails.
Verdict
The 2024 Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000 continues to be one of the best sport rigs on the market. Fox Live Valve makes the big, boxy KRX handle well, and the two-seater feels right at home on every trail. You lose some maneuverability with the four-seater, but the extra seats are worth it. While not as powerful or fast as its turbocharged competitors, it’s just as fun and capable.
Overview
The Kawasaki KRX and KRX4 remain largely unchanged for 2024. It’s the second year for the KRX4, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that it’s the same. The KRX is still a great option for anyone wanting to get into a sport rig yet not wanting to fork out their life savings. Fox Live Valve, a Hifonics stereo, and the most comfortable backseat we’ve ever been in highlight the KRX.

Pricing and Which One to Buy
2024 Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000: $23,199
2024 Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000 SE: $25,199
2024 Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000 Trail Edition: $25,699
2024 Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000 ES: $25,699
2024 Kawasaki KRX4 1000 SE: $27,499
2024 Kawasaki KRX4 1000 eS: $28,499
2024 Kawasaki KRX4 1000 SE eS: $29,999
Considering that prices all hover around the same number, there isn’t a reason to not go with the KRX 1000 eS. Fox Live Valve, a Warn winch, and a Hifonics stereo are more than worth the extra $2K. It’s the same story for the four-seater. If you’re gonna spend that kind of money on a side-by-side, you might as well buy the SE eS and be the most capable on the trail.
Industry Competitors
Powertrain: Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The 2024 KRX and KRX4 get an eight-valve DOHC 999cc parallel twin. A horsepower number isn’t given, but torque comes in at 76.7 lb-ft. Power is transferred through a CVT with high and low gears and a 2WD/4WD transfer case with a locking front differential.
Suspension, Handling
Double-wishbone suspension with Fox 2.5 Podium LSC shocks give the KRX 18.6 inches of travel in the front and 21.1 in the rear. ES and SE eS models get Fox Live Valve shocks with electronically controlled suspension. All of this translates into a very confident ride, whether it’s speeding through trail corners or driving in wide-open dunes
Brakes
Dual hydraulic disc brakes sit on all four corners, with the front getting dual-piston calipers and the rear single-pistons.
Ergonomics: Comfort and Utility
Both front seats are fully adjustable, and the rear seat is one of the most comfortable we’ve been in. The whole rig is littered with storage cubbies, and while the rear bed is small, it can accommodate a few pieces of gear. Three-point belts are standard, but harnesses can be added on.
Payload/Towing
The rear bed can hold up to 351 pounds and is fitted with a few tie-down points. Utility use stops there, though, as towing capacity is not given.
Electronics
The digital dash gets a speedometer, tachometer, belt temperature gauge, drive indicator, economical riding indicator, and water temp gauge. The SE and eS get a Hifonics stereo system and electronic suspension control.
Maintenance Period
The 2024 KRX has a 20-hour break-in period at half throttle.
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
A six-month warranty is standard, but it can be upgraded up to 36 months.
