Ups

Google Ads

A rec-ute rig with plenty of spirit, the 2024 Kawasaki Teryx is cheap, nimble, torquey, and will fit your needs on or off the trail.

Downs

It’s a jack-of-all-trades, and a master of nothing. While it can run your favorite trails and put in its share on the farm, other rigs will do it better. A 1,300-pound towing capacity is laughable compared to other utility and rec-ute side-by-sides.

Verdict

While the 2024 Kawasaki Teryx is a fun and nimble rec-ute side-by-side, it doesn’t excel in anything. Towing capacity, suspension travel, and torque numbers are all outshined by other UTVs in its class. Those downgrades come with an upside, though, as the 2024 Kawasaki Teryx manages to stay under $21,000 across all models. If you want a cheap option into the world of side-by-sides, the Teryx is your rig.

Overview

The 2024 Kawasaki Teryx returns as the bridge unit between utility and sport. With 47 lb.-ft. of torque and 10.7 inches of suspension travel (on the S LE model), you won’t be hurting on the trails. Although this is an entry-level rec-ute side-by-side, tons of fun can be had with it.

Updates for 2023

Updates are limited to new colors and graphics.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

2024 Kawasaki Teryx MSRP: $16,199

2024 Kawasaki Teryx S LE MSRP: $17,499

2024 Kawasaki Teryx4 MSRP: $18,199

2024 Kawasaki Teryx4 S Camo MSRP: $18,799

2024 Kawasaki Teryx4 S LE: $19,499

2024 Kawasaki Teryx4 S SE: $ 20,999

The entry-level Teryx is probably the best bang-for-buck out there, even with base-model features and only 8 inches of suspension travel. But if you have the money to spend, we recommend going with the S LE. For just $1,300 more, you get a much peppier rig that might be able to keep up with your buddies’ sport side-by-sides.

Industry Competitors

Powertrain: Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The 2024 Teryx gets a 783cc V-twin that pushes 47 lb.-ft. of torque. It is mounted to a CVT transmission with high/low/reverse gears and a transfer case with 2WD and 4WD. The front wheels get a manual locking differential.

Suspension, Handling

Fox piggyback shocks are on all models, but if you upgrade to the S LE, you get Fox 2.0 LSC shocks with up to 10.7 inches of travel.

If you opt for the S LE, you get Fox 2.0 LSC shocks on all four corners.

Brakes

Hydraulic disc brakes are on all four corners.

Ergonomics: Comfort and Utility

Sporty bucket seats and three-point belts are at every position. Apart from that, the Teryx feels much like a utility rig.

Payload/Towing

The Teryx sits far behind other utility side-by-sides with lackluster towing and hauling capabilities. For starters, towing is only rated at 1,300 pounds. On the two-seater, the rear bed can hold up to 600 pounds, but if you opt for the four-seater, that gets cut down to 249.

Electronics

A simple gauge cluster is all you’ll get for electronics.

Maintenance Period

Break-in period of 20 hours at half throttle. First service after 20 hours, every 1,200 miles thereafter.

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

Three-year limited warranty.
