Pro Motocross return locked in for Sexton at RedBud
Back on-track for the second-half of the 2023 season.
New Supercross champion Chase Sexton has locked in his anticipated return to racing ahead of RedBud’s fifth round of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship, further elevating the 450MX field.
Sexton was injured directly following the opening round of Fox Raceway, sustaining a concussion and being diagnosed with mono during that procedure.
Now, the 23-year-old has been declared fit to return to action, with both he and Team Honda HRC announcing the news on social media this morning. It is a fitting location to return for, featuring as his own race on the schedule and the place where he helped clinch victory for Team USA last year.
“Chase Sexton is back!,” the team confirmed. “Team Honda HRC is very happy to confirm the reigning 450SX champ’s return to Pro Motocross this weekend. Chase missed three rounds due to concussion, but is once again ready to compete as the series heads to the legendary RedBud – his home race and the same place he helped bring Team USA to victory just last fall.”
It’s currently Team Honda HRC teammate Jett Lawrence who remains unbeaten in the 450MX title-chase despite his rookie status. Sexton is positioned second in the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) points, 35 points behind 450SX rival Cooper Webb (Red Bull KTM).
